The GEMS Parent Teacher Organization plays a very active role in our children’s school life. The PTO is a non-profit organization whose primary purpose is to enrich the welfare of all our children at Garlough Environmental Magnet School. Membership is open to all parents and teachers.

Culver's Night
Don’t Cook! Treat the family to dinner and dessert at Culver’s. No flyer necessary this time. Garlough PTO will earn 10% of all purchases. Drive through, carry-out or dine-in purchases count toward our fundraising. You can even order online! https://orderonline.culvers.com/

Hoot Hike 2023-2024
Garlough Environmental Magnet School is hosting our 12th Annual GEMS Hoot Hike Fundraiser. Students in all grades will come together.
• Hike through Garlough and Marthaler parks
• Enjoy trail mix while visiting with friends
• Campfire, music, community tables & fun behind the school
• A scavenger hunt where you can win some fabulous prizes
• Roberts BBQ & Grill food truck (for purchase) all evening
• See the work our students have done on the tunnel mural
• Ribbon cutting ceremony for the mural at 5:00pm
Our biggest fundraiser and we can't do it without you.
It's a great community event that showcases our awesome school ... and TONS and TONS of fun!!

What Does the PTO Do?
Countless Volunteer Hours
One of the greatest assets to Garlough is the people power of the PTO. Volunteers donating their time to facilitate all the great work happening during the school day and the numerous special events throughout the school calendar,
Curriculum-Enhancing Experiences
Helping make possible enriching field trips, classroom pet sponsorship, school assemblies on important issues, and the iNature magnet program are some of the ways the PTO contributes to Garlough.
School-wide Funding
Addressing student equity issues by donating school supplies, providing parent education, and fostering community through fun events and activities for students and families. The PTO continues to grow and nuturing learning at Garlough.
